FLOWERS, FOLIAGE AND MAKING THE MOST OF THE PERFECT SETTING
Guest Blog by Kathrine, Fleur Adamo Floral Design
I have been privileged to be part of helping people realise their dream wedding for a long time now, and yet I never lose the feeling of excitement (and yes, more than a few nerves!) when I deliver my flowers to brides and grooms on their special day. For me there is no feeling like it to see the reactions of brides, bridesmaids, grooms, and groomsmen when they see what often feels like the final piece in the jigsaw of their wedding day preparation fall into place. Perfect!
Getting to know my brides and grooms is one of the most important and enjoyable aspects of my job, remember you should always feel at ease and confident when it comes to your suppliers – we are there to offer guidance and creativity to you and yours, whether you have a clear idea of what you want or actually have no set ideas at all. I hope that I use my experience and love for what I do interpret and enhance your ideas in both practical and creative ways.
Whatever you want your flowers to say about you there are many ways in which they can reflect what is truly important – perhaps the inclusion of your grandmother’s favourite rose, the first flowers given to you by your partner or a loved one, these touches bring so much to the feel and style of your day. However, your flowers are not just about a beautiful bouquet, they also provide you with an opportunity to bring your own style and personality to that special place where you are celebrating, your venue – and well, there are venues and there are venues!
Thicket Priory is without doubt the most amazing venue you could wish for – the house and grounds are steeped in history and provide a ready-made canvas filled with style, atmosphere and ambience.
You also have the undivided attention of a professional, experienced and reliable team who will support you in every aspect of your preparations.
For me as a florist the building and grounds are pure heaven for decorating with flowers and foliage, whether you choose to ooze floral opulence, weave a fantasy of wildness, or just want minimal decoration to highlight what is already there.
Floral displays are a perfect way to focus the eye to emphasise an entrance or seating plan, brighten a corner or decorate an area good for a photo opportunity. They can also create the perfect backdrop for your top table or wherever your ceremony is taking place. However, it’s also true that often the smallest of touches are what you and your guests remember the most – a wreath on a distant doorway, pumpkins nestling in secret corners, moss filled lanterns twinkling in windows, the scent of antique roses or fragrant herbs in a table arrangement…
So remember, this is your personal journey and celebration, flowers and foliage can be the finishing touches in so many ways.
